So sorry to hear about Trips Gypsy, and you child Mandy - hope you're both doing ok.

I have a day off tomorrow - my last one to myself in a while I think. I have a friend coming to stay on the weekend for quite a few weeks - might have to drag him to Babinda with me because I don't think I can go "cold turkey" :-).

I'm really geeling the heat this week - it was so warm on the weekend and today didn't feel much better. I hope I survive my first FNQ summer!

She's asleep now, dont know how long for... but I've put myself in the bedroom next to her so I can help her if she wakes up. Poor little mite. She's weathering it like a trouper.

Its just like a shocker of a WINTERS day here today... absolutely FREEZING and I've got my fire going. Its been really lovely up until now too.

Of to work today. Wonder if I can survive the day on not that much sleep at all. Fingers crossed I have 17 loveable ratbags that behave today.

Have a good day Julie.

Hannah is a little better today, still pale and is still fast asleep. It'll probably take her a day or two to get back on her feet as long as she keeps improving once she gets up.

I'm tired after being up to her. She had a shocker of a headache with it so that put me on high alert...... I dunno- I always brace myself for the worst but wishing for the best.

Hi everyone.

Mandy I am glad to hear she is feeling a bit better, sounds like a horrid virus she has. It's always scary when they get a headache with it, but when we once took J to hospital wondering if he had meningitis with those symptoms, the doctor told us if you are ever in doubt then get your child to walk a straight line; if they can walk a straight line then they won't have meningitis apparently, otherwise they lose all sense of balance if they do.

Gypsy I am sorry to read your news. (((hugs)))

It's actually sunny today, hope it continues as we have had a few weeks of miserable weather.

My DS Josh wasn't feeling well this morning so he is at home today. So I have cancelled my plans to go out and will just get stuff done round here.

Thanks for that Ceci, - she was dizzy with it too... so not sure if she would have been able to walk the straight line... but with vomiting so much... dizziness can happen.... Ugh its a tough call cos so many symptoms are the same.... I was vigilent though... and I think she was sick of me waking her... but I needed to know she was okay.

I hope Josh feels better soon too.

It WAS a sunny morning this morning - so very optimistically I put the washing out.... only for the weather to crack up and rain on it. Cant win! :?

Another major symptom of meningitis is hallucination and not knowing where or what anything is and also if you touch her neck and she screams in pain!

When Cody Had meningitis the dead give away was the neck pain and rolling in and out of consciousness even though he was only 3 months old at the time its very easy to tell

Hope she's feeling better! I hate having a sick baby and Also Mandy with everything you have been through with Miss Hannah I understand you worrying Im the same with Cody we need frequent visitors cards at the doctors with him

Ceci I hope Josh is better soon x

It's major grass fires here again and once again left to fend for myself and my son and my business while DH Just up and goes as soon as that dumb beeper goes off...hmmm wonder if Cody could accidently break it for mummy ;)

Thanks girls for the well wishes for Josh, I think he may have a bit of a gastro thing, but not too serious.

My oldest DD Rachel also had meningitis once.. back in 2007...and she had extreme neck pain and stiffness, we ended up taking her to hospital as she wasn't improving, and we got a shock that it was meningitis. Viral of course...but still very nasty!

I hope Hannah is feeling much better Mandy.

LOL about breaking the beeper Ant!

Well it's back to jam making, my cooking beeper just went off here!

Cody ended up with a rare bacterial one, and we are so lucky he is alive and well they told us initially to prepare for the worst and except permanent brain damage but thankfully my little stubborn fighting machine (that's his mummy in him!) beat all odds and is a happy little thriving boy!

Ohh Ceci make me some dried apricot jam! I can not get enough of it there is a little old lady here who makes it and I buy Jar after Jar I just love it!!!!

Morning all. Missy and I are having a pj day today. She has got an assignment that is due on the first day back at school so we are going to have a day at home to sort that out along with some special Mummy and Daughter treats to break it up. She has already planned on playing Moshie monsters together.

I'm waiting for James to have his overdue sleep so I can get some work done. Been doing some more sewing, and even managed to scrap a couple of cards :) I finally finished reorganising my study with extra cupboards so can find everything again, just need bub to sleep so I can use it :)
