ugh..... its the bane of my life Its just hard when my brain doesnt bend that way!
Definitely working on the creative side of the brain, as if that isn't obvious... Love your work.
Still plodding away here , took off yesterday and today to cook some culinary "masterpieces" cough, cough.. to freeze for my party later this month. Will be glad when this is all over. Have to go order some carpet. Have a fantastic day everyone, can't wait to see what is revealed tonight.

aaaw thanks Miss Trisha.... Have fun ordering your carpet! ITs lovely when new stuff goes down - everything looks lovely and fresh - specially if you've painted as well!
It's another lovely day here - I want to put my birds out in the garden but a couple of days ago - poor Maggie (my cockateil) was attacked by a hawk! Never have I seen one in my garden before - ever and it came from no-where - and thank goodness I was standing at my kitchen window so I could see. The thing swooped down, grabbed Maggie through the cage by the tip of her wing - she was screaming - I was screaming - and I ran out the back door like a banchee! The thing flew off. Poor little Maggie was trembling and dazed, lost some feathers and was bleeding a little bit. The finches huddled in a corner all together. And I took them all inside. Whatsmore the wretched hawk flew back, landed on a tree stump and watched my birds through the window! I took our my camera and took some pics....(had to get priorities straight) then ran at it screaming like a banchee again to scare it away. (goodness knows what the neighbours thought! dont care! Now I dont want to put my birds outside at all.
Oh poor Maggie and poor you and all the little finches. The natural way of things seems so unfair sometimes. Would love to see your photos though.
I have ordered the carpet, which can be laid on Monday since is is just one room. Eek! Got to get that room painted and drying by Sunday night. Any takers?? All volunteers welcomed. So much for cooking some more today! See you on the other side of hell, I really do not like painting rooms.

Better you than me with the painting and carpet laying, Trisha!
And your poor birds, Mandy! We haven't had that problem down here, but in Cairns we had a canary murdered! We think it was a butcher bird that "done the deed".
Another week over - DH is watching the Olympics, I am having some computer time, and have a LO on my (nice and clean) desk, but it just isn't doing it for me. This is the 2nd photo I have tried with the papers I had out..... I have cut the papers so am sort of stuck with it. Perhaps I need to mess my desk up again
Poor Maggie. I hope she's ok now. Those hawks are just so quick, hey. It was only last week when I'd just put out some seed in the feeder and the little finches starting flying in and whoosh, a hawk appeared from nowhere and took one.....I was almost in tears.

Oooh butcher birds are murderers - they even catch little birds in mid-flight! We've had them here a couple of times .... mainly at the finches. But havent seen them for a while now - they can jolly stay away too. Maybe my mad banchee screaming run at them is enough! Hope the hawk takes the hint!
Oh no Deb - thats HORRIBLE!!! poor little thing! I can imagine what it would be like not to be at the top of the food chain! Maggie is much better today - more like her old self - but she just wants to be on our shoulder all the time.
hee hee LO Cheryl! I just KNOW how that feels... by that stage - I usually ditch the papers by then.. (another time with another frame of mind usually fixes the problem )
I've scrapped today - now the desk is a mess again.

Not long in from dinner with some work girls. Now I'm going to do a few things here on the computer before going to bed. Tomorrow I am going out to buy a dryer. Wahoo no more having to try and juggle wet washing on an indoor air to try and get it all dry.
enjoy the dryer Julie. Mostly cloudless skies here meaning cold nights, but ok for drying clothes! and great for gardening.
Dreadful week as we lost Dh's niece on Monday after a lifetime of battling health problems. Is not feeling real at all yet.
Loving all the changes to the forum, challenges etc. I just need to get the tax paperwork together and maybe can get back to spending time at my other desk!

Sorry to hear about your niece, Helen.
Mandy, I did ditch my project, changed it all around and it is now finished! I think even the sketch I was trying to work with just wasn't doing it for me. Save it for another day. Now I can work on this month's challenge sketch. My mind has been ticking over...........
And I also have come to the conclusion a tidy desk doesn't work for me!

Oh dear Helen.. thats very sad. Sending thoughts your way.
Yeah Cheryl, I get what you mean about some sketches and trying to work them. I'm a bit discerning when it comes to sketches. I find the busy/blocky ones arent for me. The more elements on them - the more restricting they are. Glad you reached the finish line and got it done
Paige went to a friends 15th birthday last night dressed as a Cinderella - it was a 'princess' party of all things. They had a ball, our French exchange student dressed as Aurora - and had never done anything like it before - nevertheless got some great pics
Not sure what I'll do today.. its only 9.25am - and everyone else is in bed still... oooh I love this 'quiet' in the house
Scary experience with the birds Mandy - but I laughed at the vision you creating with your screaming like a banchee
Well two jobs today - Danny is busy packing orders, you girls went crazy on all the new stock, and I will be checking and consigning orders. Busy day ahead - and then there will be some bookwork - yes still

LOL Lee-Anne, screaming isnt something that comes to me easily let me say!! Talk about complete loss of composure! Heh heh - not sure what the neighbours thought - god only knows - they probably didnt see the hawk
Not surprised that the new stock is walking out the door - its gorgeous!
Julie - living here in tassie - having no dryer would be disasterous especially with a family and heaps of washing to get through.
Must be breakfast time (I'm still in peace as no one has risen yet ) raisin toast and a cup of tea

Here's the culprit Cool as a cucumber (not for long... just after this pic it got the shock of its life ) This is the stump I usually put Maggies cage on in the sun. Now the hawks perched there - staring into the window where my birds are - prob wondering how to get to them
So lucky this is all the damage it did to her with that nasty hooked beak - could have been far worse
Here she is just dazed, a bit fluffed out but still quivering. She's the most lovely little bird, doesnt bite, just wants to ride your shoulder all day... and loves being cuddled!
Ooh Lee-Anne, your Mum looks amazing , and such a terrific award for her and well deserved!!! Little Declan is just cute as, and his eyes are stunning.Looks very content and a good boy too.
Mandy sorry to hear about your beautiful Maggie being attacked, how is she now?
