I keep mine in the packets then put them in a plastic storage tub - mine always live in there as it's waterproof and cyclone proof hehe

I also sort mine out and write on the packet what each one is for :)

I'm hopeless! Mine are in two drawers... but 'mostly' in packets.

standing up loose in a shoebox

But a little while ago I did sort through them all and label them with the location and date :)

I seem to be printing them as I need them for a page now but I have one of those document display folder type things from Big W - A4 size with those white pages in the plastic sleeves and I used to write details of the photo and sometimes a sketch of a layout I had in mind on the white insert and then just store the photos in that plastic sleeve. Don't know how safe it all was but I never had any problems with the photos.

I use your snaplock bags you buy from any supermarket(love the elmo ones) and sort them out that way. Then I put them in a plastic file thing with a handle. I just take it with me wherever I go in case I see papers I like I can look through my photo's to see if anything works with it. Of course I can't cart all my photo's with me but just take a variety of stuff to work with. Hope that is helpful...
