What you need is….

One 12x12 background paper

2 contrasting papers
- 5 ½ x 10 ½ inches
- 4 x 9 ½ inches

3 photos
approx about 3x2 inches or similar size – doesn’t matter if they are slightly bigger (either portrait or landscape or a mixture of both)

Mist – about the colour of your background paper if you can, or contrasting colour if not.

Technique to learn –
you will need 2inch white gauze bandage

Ink

bigger alpha for title

little alpha (like carolee creations etc)

Fine felt tip pen (mines black)

5 buttons

an embellishment or small embellishment clusters to suit

optional – trim - to measure a bottom or top edge of 2 of the photos. (I’ve used Fancy Pants bauble trim)

STEP ONE
(so we have drying time)

Cut your bandage into 3 lengths of 11inches and lay out flat on newspaper or what I do is spray in a pizza box. Very lightly spray your mist over the gauze. I’ve just done one quick ‘passover’ of spray on mine as I still wanted some of the white evident. Have a practice first! Spray to the amount of how you think it would look on your LO – these will be bows!
Put aside to dry. (We will be using more pieces from the roll of bandage later that you may or may not want to mist)

STEP TWO
Distress around your 12x12 background paper, and 2 contrasting papers sizes being:
- 5 ½ x 10 ½ inches
- 4 x 9 ½ inches
Ink the edges if you like.
Fold the edges up a tiny bit – about 3-4mm so it looks ‘tray-like’ on all three pieces of paper. We will call the smaller pieces of paper – ‘trays’

STEP THREE
From your roll of bandage –
-cut a piece the length of the bigger ‘tray’ paper
- then cut down the length of the gauze so its only one inch wide instead of two inches wide
You may feel you want to spray this with your mist…it depends on your colours you are working with… I didn’t but it suits mine white… if you need to then mist it now and add it when its dry.

We also need another piece of gauze later on so cut another piece of the roll of bandage about three and a half inches long (no cutting down the middle this time!) mist this too if you don’t want white, and put aside.

STEP FOUR
Place and centre the smaller ‘tray’ inside the bigger ‘tray’ then tuck the 1inch wide gauze pieces horizontally behind along the top and bottom of the smaller tray so the gauze’s frayed edging is sticking out.

Soooo to make more sense -
you should have two 1inch lengths... one for along the top of the tray and one for the bottom.
The gauze frayed edge peeks out from underneath the top tray along the top, and the other piece along the bottom...horizontally

STEP FIVE
Place the bigger tray with its contents (smaller tray and gauze all stuck down) on the 12x12 background paper.
Centre at the top of the background paper.

STEP SIX
Optional – distress/ink/sand your photos (I’ve sanded mine)
Place your photos horizontally on and along the smaller tray. I’ve placed my three unevenly – tilted, with a couple of the corners poking out over the edge of the smaller tray. Arrange them to your taste.

STEP SEVEN
Place your trim along the top of your first photo, and the other under the bottom of your third photo in the row.

STEP EIGHT
Tie bows in the first pieces of gauze you misted in Step One. Place bows under the first two photos and the last bow at the top corner of the third photo – or arrange to taste!

STEP NINE
Either on the right side or left side under the trays (mine is on the left)….
Freehand with a pen (this is not meant to be perfect) 6 lines horizontally under each other for the journaling about half inch apart and three and a half inches long
This is where you can place your mini alphas in a journaling way. If you don’t have mini-alphas… use your own handwriting.

STEP TEN
Place your title on the opposite side underneath the trays.

STEP ELEVEN
With your three and a half inch gauze (you prepared from Step Three) – fray it a bit and run your fingernail along the middle so the thread-lines becomes uneven and arrange somewhere underneath your title.

STEP TWELVE
Arrange small embellie/s and your five buttons on this gauze. Put embellie/s down the side of your journaling too.
Add anything else if you like that is going to make it your LO!

All finished!!!
