-----------------------------------------------------
Here's your ingredients!

Landscape photo – or a portrait that could have the height cut down a bit. Or you could use to small photos side by side.

1 12x12 background paper

2 strips 12 inches long (one 4.5cms wide and the other 3cm wide) these can be paper lace(like12x12 Basic Grey lace which can be cut down) or see through lace (something that has holes in it so its can be seen through)

Tissue paper – mine has a rose pattern on it… but it can be plain

Heart punch - mines about 4x4cms - so it needs to be around that size or you can cut some out either by drawing hearts yourself – or you may have some heart paper that you can cut from. You’ll need to have about a dozen. You could substitute the hearts for stars for example

A mount for your photo – I’ve used a Prima journaling note for mine, you could just use a paper mount – whatever takes your fancy.

A large journaling block – mines a bracket diecut 5 ½ x 5 ½ inches – around the height of your photo-ish, enough to fit your title.

Alpha

String

4 tiny little buttons (I have two different colours)

Distresser, ink, sander (if you like to use them)

and anything else you'd like to add afterwards

------------------------------------------------------------

Before we start…
Just a couple of things….

Make sure you read the whole instruction in a step before doing anything

About sticking anything down on your LO:
Some blind scrappers like to stick down at the very end, some like to stick down as they go which are both great… and I will suggest as we go through the instructions when its safe to stick down. Sometimes we might place a piece on a LO not stuck down because the next step may ask to tuck something behind it for example…

These instructions are just a guide and it’s totally up to you how you’d like to interpret them –poetic license is a total must! And of course when we are finished with the last step please feel free to add anything else you’d like to make the LO your own…..
Most of all – lets have fun!

------------------------------------------------------------------

STEP ONE
Distress/ink/sand (if you like) your 12x12 background paper and doodle a border around the edges up to 1cm in.

STEP TWO
Tear your tissue paper a little wider and longer than your :

“2 strips 12 inches long (one 4.5cms wide and the other 3cm wide) these can be paper lace/doilies(like12x12 Basic Grey doilies which can be cut down) or see through lace (something that has holes in it so its can be seen through)”
Do one strip and then do the other

And try make the tissue paper tear unevenly – not perfectly (wink)

Place the two tissue pieces aside for a moment.

STEP THREE
Laying your 2 strips of paper lace or Basic Grey Doilies paper or see through lace (whatever you’ve chosen) horizontally….
make little vertical pleats along it. Don’t be fussy and make it all super even – mine definitely aren’t!
Pleat no less than 5cms apart for the 3cm wide strip (right through the entire length) and no less than 8cms apart for the wider one. –only tiny pleating) then stick these strips back on top of your two pieces of tissue paper.
Now the tissue paper is supposed to look torn and shabby sticking out from underneath – so no neatening off with scissors!! Hopefully it’s a soft look!

The tissue paper will be 12inch long-ish... and the pleated strips shorter - we LIKE this!! dont tear anything off!!

STEP FOUR
Lay your two tissued strips horizontally along the bottom somewhere on your background paper where you’d like. It doesn’t matter if your wider strip is at the top or if the thinner one is…. I’ve got my wide one at the top. You may or may not like to leave gap in between the two Don’t stick them down yet.

STEP FIVE
Mount your photo onto your paper mount of your liking (I’ve used a Prima Journaling Notelet – but my portrait photo is cut down a bit to fit and just lay it either on the right or left side of your background paper tucked a little behind the top of the tissued strip. Now place your journaling block on the other side to your photo and tuck that a little behind the top strip too (same as your photo) and you could tuck it under the side of your photo too if it works well. Just have a play. Don’t forget to distress/ink/sand any of your items – if you are into those techniques!

STEP SIX
If you like the look of this…. then stick it all down!! (big smile)

STEP SEVEN
Distress/ink/sand your hearts (if you want)
Now you can lay out all your hearts (or stars or whatever you’ve chosen in place of the hearts etc) along the two pleated strips. Place them unevenly, maybe tuck some of them under some of the pleats and when you are happy – stick them down.

STEP EIGHT
Stick your little buttons randomly on four of the hearts and make a couple tiny bows out of your string and do the same.

STEP NINE
Add your title alpha to your large journaling block next to your photo

STEP TEN
Add anything else you’d like to finish off! A bit of journaling somewhere perhaps?

I’m going to add a pink ribbon (seam binding) bow to the top corner of my big journaling block – and that will do me I think!

And then all done!
