theapol. Just how sweet is Lily. you can see detail and light from her eyes, the little smile is gorgeous and its well lit. Focus is sharp on her eyes which is one of the most important things besides the light. The only thing I would have liked to see is less detail in the background. I suggest f5.6 or less.(meaning smaller number, smaller focus). And that would have picked up your shutter speed a bit as well. I'm impressed that its as sharp as it is at only 1/80th. well done.

Her little pony tail grabs me in the second one as well has her thumb sucking action. so very cute. Background nicely blurred.

Memories to treasure forever.

Well done theapol. You've done well.

Thanks Tiff, I really enjoy reading your tutorials and I'm just starting to make an effort for more 'me' time which means more time for what I love - photography and scrapping. Thank you for taking the time to respond to everyone who puts a photo up.

Sandie.
RAW is so liberating and reassuring that you have some fall back to recover a shot.

however....

not all cameras will take a RAW file (for those wondering what the heck is RAW, its a different file type from JPG that your camera shoots). And no ones computer will read RAW. You need programs such as Picasa (I think), Photoshop, Lightroom, or the software that came with your camera to read it, process it and then convert as a JPG at the end so everyone else can read it.

Basically RAW is a massive file with alot more data than a jpg so you can capture more detail and more colour within the gamut. Bigger the file, bigger the picture you can produce on the other end. And it has huge processing advantages too. But, it's more work, more time at the computer and new things to learn. But its so worth it. I shoot in RAW 100% of the time.

Remind me in the future Sandie. It's not for everyone. Google tutorials and how to's would probably be a more direct way for you to get a handle of it Sandie.

Trisha.
what a fun shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!! great idea to throw up the chocolates bars. and the ladies look so happy. Personally I would have moved them over by the tree/bush in the background so you wouldn't have all the other details of your backyard in the shot. or a blank wall if you have one. And just watch your lighting. Some of the ladies are in the shade and some are in the sun. Well done on co-ordinating the group and providing a wonderful idea for a prop.

The Sombrero lady is a tiny bit over exposed.(very pale/overly light skin) Could you have taken a step back and zoom in?? or prehaps place a tissue over your flash to diffuse it a bit would do the trick. make sure it's a white tissue

Nicely shot, angle of the chin raised to thin under the chin and the sombrero gives it a nice splash of colour.

You've done well and put some thought into the shot, before pressing the trigger. And that's wonderful.

tiff :)

The chocolate bar shot was fairly spontaneous, and it was my daughters' idea. I can now see why the shot should have been set differently, thank you.
It makes such a difference when you look at your photos properly.
Thank heaven you are here Tiff and thank you so much.
