And I wonder if you can get the sheep to look at you when you take the shot..... I just can hear your baaaing the sheep to get it to eyeball you lol. Or have it grazing, so long as its doing something rather than looking off camera. (I know its a bit of an ask, being a sheep and all lol)

Wow Gypsy, that tree is awesome! And Tiff, I'd love some tips on getting good photos of my pets too - they always seem to move right when I'm about to take the photo! Also some tips on taking sunset (or sunrise) photos would be great at some stage too. And someone mentioned waterfalls the other day - that's something else I'd love to know more about - not that we tend to have a lot of those around here! I did find this gorgeous one when we were in NZ at Christmas time, but I'd only had my new camera for a few weeks then & had no idea how to use it off Auto! Would love to know what you think of this photo anyway.

Pepper. that waterfall is just about perfect as it is. What a detailed shot. I'm guessing that you found the best spot so you could get the top and the bottom of the falls without any distractions in front of it. Ideally, but probably not practically, would be to have someone hold those dead ferns on the bottom left out of the way. I wasn't there so I dont know if they could have been reached or they were too far away. Beautifully lit by the sun.

I'll get onto those other ideas too mate. I'm making a list. Thanks for the suggestions.

the sheep that are quiet enough to look usually come right over if I call them more ideas to work on thanks

I am attaching a street scape not sure if this is suitable here it's the best I can do today, the sky is cloudy and as my daughter says, if you can't see the mountains it is going to rain. I guess the washing goes up in the carport.
I tried cropping it so it wasn't so high to get rid of some of the white and the road at the front but then all I saw was the light pole. There is a path at the end of the street but it is behind that car, maybe it would be to distant to draw the eye any further anyway.
Please feel free to critique Tiff.

This is a photo of my boys exploring the bush around the Murray River. The landscape can be quite barren and flat. It was a beautiful day and I liked the effect of the clouds in the sky. What do you think Tiff?

lol. Gypsy. The second one chook as the sheep is more to the camera (slightly) and the dark sheep is not in the shot. Try kneeling for a different perspective. And having the sheep off centre to make the shot interesting....

Trisha. The sweeping road does lead my eye around to the white car which is also emphasised by the peep-hole thru the foliage. Praps you could have your daughter walking towards you in that spot, and it would be better once the person who owns the car has gone for a drive in it. Pop your daughter in a red top for a spot of colour. The eye is naturally drawn to red. The light pole does draw my eye as its smack bang in the centre. Can you move a bit so its not in the middle of the shot but still have that gap in the trees. And it was a grey day wasn't it. I actually quite like this Trisha. Keep playing with this scene. It has lots of possibilities.

DanniT. love the sky line Danni. I like the choice of tracks in front of them.... eludes to which one they might go.... mystery. The swing of the golf stick is so un-posed, I love it. You've just missed the bottom of the boot of the boy in blue.... I can see this shot done slightly differently, depending on your boys and how happy they are to go the way you ask them . On the left track, see how the cloud comes down to a pinpoint nearly above it. I can imagine the boys on this left track, with the clouds coming down to a point above them (leading lines), walking along, swinging the golf club. If they were also a bit further away from the camera so they don't dominate over the landscape, but appear as a focal point within it, that would be fantastic.

Thanks Tiff! I was lucky they built a viewing platform at the perfect spot LOL! I don't think I could have gotten rid of the dead ferns, the bank was quite steep there unfortunately. Doubt that I'll ever find my way back to this particular waterfall (being miles from anywhere in NZ!) but I'm glad I managed to get a decent shot of it while I was there!

Plan on taking my camera out with me tomorrow afternoon, I have a couple of places I'll be visiting that might make for a good landscape photo or two - will see how I go!

Ok here goes - I have a bundle of course but I will try not to drive you crazy with them - critique away

My thoughts on this one - the weather could have been better, however that is something you could wait for 6 weeks for around here and I was only there for 30 minutes

Taken at Millstream Falls - good weather
