Hey girls...........Not sure if this was the section to put this topic but it looked to be the best.
I have PSE7 (and of course don't know how to use it ) and want to be able to drag multiple pics onto one canvas to create something like a collage but I will be cutting each pic out. Wanting to do it like this to save photo paper and time. All the pics have to be the same size; about 5 of them.
The Dummys book wasn't helpful. I thought googling it would be helpful, which it was and tried the instructions but only a couple came out the preferred size....so that wasn't all together helpful.
If someone could PLEASE help with this I would be eternally grateful as I have to learn how to do it. Please, please??
Thanks CeeTee, I'll go in and have a look later as I want these pics for one of the challenges and will see the exact steps I did and post them up. Maybe someone will be able to see where I've gone wrong.
You can create a collage in the editor by making the content palette visible. Go to window>content and then you can add a theme or any of the items in the collage section of Create.
Means nothing to me however may mean something to you
I did look at that and considered it however after looking at a Tutorial about it, it didn't give me a clear indication whether I could choose my own photo sizes or if I had to stick to the templates given. So I didn't look any further into it. I will though now, just to satisfy the curiosity
hmmm i did a six week course on digi enhancements last year ..there was a lot of cramming ...will check my notes and see if i can help ...that is fi you still need it =)\
I tried the collage in the create section and it seems I can't change the photo size. So no, I haven't worked out a solution yet.....Bugger!!! I'd love some help thanks if you're able to find it in your notes Thanks heaps
ok i have it ....well i hope this is helpful (>>> means click on) (i pre edit my pics first so they are how i want them to be on my collage)
When ready to make collage ...... open your stanadrd edit page >>>File >>>new >>>Blank file
a pop up box should open name your collage resize to width 800pixels ........height to 600 pixels background white *note if you choose transparent you may not beable to save as a jpeg file
now you should have a blank white file open.....now to add your photos >>>file >>>place resize by pushing edge box markers on the pic about (just >>>> the box and move ) then >>> tick at the top to say "yes i am happy with this pic here
then repeat until you have photos all on canvas
then use >>>>layer >>>>arrange to bring your pics forwards or backwards
then lock layers (there is a little lock symbol on right hand bar just above the number layers)..then save ...when i am saving for web i resize to about 456pixels =) with maxium jpeg i hope this helps Sammi
WOW!!!! Thanks Sammi!! I'll be sure to give this a go in the next few days. I can't wait!!! Hopefully it's the answer My youngest daughter's birthday is today so we've had some celebrations today and it looks to continue for the rest of the weekend I shall definately let you know how I went.
scroll about half way down the page to see the coffeeshop 'storyboard 3V', and 'wallet size templates' onwards. I use these a lot to print out and then cut out.
Thanks Tiff for your suggestion. I'll have a look at her site a little later.
Hey Sammi....I've just found some time to check out your instructions. I'm on the blank canvas now and have placed 1 picture on the canvas. The only issue I'm having now, is that I need to re-size the 1 picture to approx 1.5" x 3.5" and will have to do this approx size for 5 pictures on the blank canvas. I clicked on Image, then Resize then Image Size. It's not letting me do the size I want. It's allowing me to do sizes that aren't going to work for what I want to do. I understand that you can't always change something to exactly the size I want (according to the photo) but surely I should be able to change it to approximately to what I want. If you can shed any light, that would be great
