thanks Ant. just wanted to mention a couple of tips for you.

It looks like you were fairly close to her when you took the shot, and the lens as distorted the size of her nose being the closest part of Kara to the camera. May I suggest you step back just a little bit and zoom in and the lens should not distort so much.

***Tip for everyone***
before you take the shot, use your eye to wander around the background to see what else is in the frame that doesn't need to be there. For example it does look like the barb wire is coming out of her head. All that it needed to fix that is her change position a bit or you do (easier if you can).

There's a black thing (backpak) on the ground on the left that could have brought back behind you to get it out of shot, or shift you or Kara to block the view of hit.

Use flash as the light is rather flat and her eyes are dull.

I actually quite like the trees as they frame her and how cool is that that they bend around her.

Don't be disheartened Ant. It's all just helpful pointers that will come second nature when you shoot regularly. Particularly the bit about the eye roaming around within the frame to check for background before you trigger the shutter.
keep at it!!!

Hard to get them to sit even when a bribe is in place i'll try again tomorrow...lol
but here are a few attemps,
One is off Ash in a car, another is one i took super quick with lockie but the focus is a little off,
if you could give me some tips Tiff would be so greatful : )

i have the perfect solution for you Sam.

Tomorrow when they have their nap, leave the curtains open and the lights on. Sneak in when they are deeply asleep and go for it. Or if they will sleep thru flash, have a go now, turn on the lights and carefully place a tissue over your flash to diffuse it a bit. It won't so bright then.

nothing more endearing than those little relaxed lips when they sleep.

and it's still a portrait.

try a couple of settings to test your self out.

nighttime one might be a good one to try.

oh and focus on the lips. Your eye will go to them first. Careful not to focus on the nose.

looking for a bit of feedback girls.

I'm thinking ahead for next month's tutorial and I'm wondering if this sort of thing grabs you.

You can incorporate what you've learnt from the Portraiture and Landscape tutorials and learn about capturing sunflare in your shots and get images like these.

sunflare is very popular in portriature atm so I'm wondering if you'd like to get a handle on it.

let me know which way you want to go with this. either yay or nay it!!

thanks and the more feedback the better.)
