Ingredients you will need:
12x12 plain background paper
3 ¼ x 12 inches contrasting pattern paper
6x6 inches contrasting paper – or plain - or use the same paper as the 3 ¼ x 12inches (you can keep your 6x6 square shape or cut it to a bracket square shape (like the diecuts) or any shape that suits etc so long as it’s a good mount for your photo).
1 photo to fit within your 6x6 shape
20 inches of ribbon (this is approx – up to 1cm wide)
6 or 7 buttons to match your ribbon or contrast with it.
(optional – needle and thread or just use glue)
string or twine (enough to go across your page with a couple of loops)
2 large butterflies (I’ve used Prima) or a trail of many smaller butterflies (or bugs/stars etc for boys)
Alpha for title (and optional - tiny alpha for journaling or part of your title)
STEP ONE Distress edges of 12x12 background paper. (ink if you like) Doodle or make a boundary border up to 1cm in from the edges
STEP TWO Using your 3 ¼ x 12 inches contrasting pattern paper (which you will end up lying this horizontally across the bottom half of your page) but before you do - cut into 6 or 7 pieces so they end up in little rectangles approximately 3 ¼ x 1 ¾ (mine arent quite all even but it doesn’t matter) Distress each piece. (ink if you like)
STEP THREE These little rectangles are going to be ‘tags’ – so for each one, cut a piece of ribbon approx 3 inches each, fold ribbon in half, and place a button just up from the fold and attach that button on the fold end to just below the top each rectangle – either by glue or sew. (I’ve sewn mine)
It just needs to look like a tag with a folded ribbon off the end of it with a button holding it on
STEP FOUR Place the little tags right across the bottom of your page (don’t stick yet). Mine are again uneven -vertically speaking, say for instance the first tag might be an inch from the bottom edge of your 12x12 and the next one might be 1 1/2 inches from the bottom so place them how you like with a tiny bit of space in between each one. Stay within your drawn borders.
STEP FIVE If you haven’t already, using your 6x6 paper, cut a bracket square shape (like the diecuts) or any shape that suits or leave as a square so long as it’s a good mount for your photo. Distress.
STEP SIX Place photo in the middle of your 6x6 and then place this in the middle of your page either above or touching the tops of the tags or overlapping – once you decide how to arrange them – stick them down.
STEP SEVEN Glue your two Butterflies (or other embellies of choice) either on the right or left side between the 6x6 shape and the edge of the paper.
STEP EIGHT Arrange your title (and little alpha if you like) on the opposite side to the butterflies/embellies and it can overlap onto the 6x6 if you like.
STEP NINE Take your string/twine, tie a knot in one end and lie horizontally across the middle of your tags (or to taste) across the page with a couple of loops in it. Stick it down with a tied knot in the other end. Place your sticker (of word/s) across a couple of tags kinda centred on the under where you put your title. It can be stuck down over the twine.
STEP TEN Journal underneath each tag directly onto the 12x12 -in one long sentence- across the page. Add anything else to make the page yours!
