Toys are cute on the nappy cakes - think small stuffed ones or things on clips that can be used on a stroller to keep bub happy as they get older.

There's no reason you couldn't add things like rolled up face washers or singlets to "flesh" out the nappy cake either - and I'm sure you can never have too many of those with a newborn around!

BTW hope you load up a pic of your creation when it's done - I'd love to see it!

i have had a baby shower for each of my kids .....by the time number 4 "gemilla" was on the way ..we had pretty much everything ....i was feeling even embarrassed about having a shower but a good friend insisted. So she organised a "mumma bake" baby shower, everybody bought a home made meal that had been frozen, either in plastic takeaway containers ... or cling wrap over the dish with a label on top (so i could return the dishes). and i reckon this was the best baby shower.Having a teenager, two kids and a baby with DH working away this was a real God send knowing that i could nap with the baby in the afternoons and dinner was just about done. With Haydens baby shower my friends all got together before hand and added money together and i got a $300 gift voucher from pumpkin patch ....which i didn't use until he was nearly 1 and i bought him clothes in size 1 and 2, cause you seem to get so many little outfits, that they grow out of so quickly.

but anyway that is my 2 cents worth. good luck with all.
