This weekend saw me busy painting DD's room (white with sparkles on 2 walls and hot pink on other 2 walls). This week is younger DD's exams so we are all being quiet and staying out of her way. She got her L's last week so we spend about 30 mins every afternoon going for a drive. Besides from that lots of walking - have the Mothers Day Classic walk this Sunday - I'm doing 8k's (in honour of my dad who was diagnosed with breast cancer this year. His mother-my nanna died from it about 14 years ago). DH comes home Wednesday night for 5 weeks holidays (with both of us taking a long time off we might be butchering each other )

Morning all...Monday again.. I can't wait to see your cover Trisha...it sounds very exciting! Hi Belinda...my neighbours are hockey-lovers too so I'm guessing it's all on for them too. The hubby is a coach for Northland and all his kids are involved in playing. Feel free to come clean my house after yours hehe.. enjoy your child-free time. Congrats Sarah!! I'll check that link after I've posted this Shimano...the room sounds pretty. I've not heard of sparkley walls in a bedroom. Have fun teaching your daughter to drive and go you doing an 8K Walk {{hugs}}
Had a good weekend.... can't remember what I did but that's normal for me LOL! Irish Dancing for DD no.1 this morning. Then home-schooling and a crafty-afternoon...sewing with DD no.2 while DD no.1 and I do some art journalling. DS will most likely hang out with his pc.

An afternoon of crafts sounds great Julia to me! I'd love nothing more. I've got a sparkly pink room in one of my bedrooms - was Paige's when we first moved in and she was 8yrs old but as she hit a teenager, she couldnt stand it and moved into another room... so the guest room is sparkly pink! Weeeeeell, we are getting our house ready to sell and the sparkly pink is going to go! Not sure yet how it will cover with a new coat of paint but will let you know!
I'm off to look at another house this morning but I dont think its what we want, yet I could be surprised. Dh and I ooked at one yesterday that by all means by the photos looked quite good, but eeeew when we got inside!
Hey Sarah, I saw that you won Artastic - thats fabulous!!! Congrats- you are doing so well!
Had breakfast with a friend this morning, well brunch really and am very much enjoying this extra day off. The garden is looking much better, although I haven't made it out the front yet. Next weekend maybe.
Am now going to get back to my rescuing of old photos from albums as study is in use by DS's girlfriend ... to study, as it happens. I can sit on the lounge and do the writing and organising of photos.
Don't forget to share your covers Trisha, have fun with the painting Mandy, congratulations Sarah.
Belinda, how did your hockey go yesterday, hope you had a fun day. Sarah, congratulations on you win I will go and check it out soon. Shimano, enjoy your 8k walk and your husband. Julze, I think my memory left when I became pregnant and has never returned. Mandy, are the sparkly walls a bit uneven, maybe you could do some effect over the colour you choose or you may have to sand. Julie, I hope your day isn't too long, have a good one. Helen, I cook you brunch anyday come on over. Are you planning on editing any of the Mum's photos? I will put some photos of my book up when it is complete. I think I have finished the covers but I am not sure if I like them. Will finish the rest and see how I feel.
you know houses are always for selling in my books - I cant imagine having lived in one for more than 5 years - I grew up like that and kept going after I got married, but I am sure that when you have been there a long time it is hard to find the next one that is just right so good luck with that Mandy
Congrats on your win Sarah - it was lovely to see that one of our girls had won it - you are welcome to come up to the shop and spend your voucher if you would like to touch and feel IRL - we would love to see you

Well today was hectic. 17 noisy children, raining for most of the day and we had washing duty. Had to do 7 loads of washing. Thankfully we had 2 washing fairies that came and took some of it to fold and sort out and another 1 who when asked, folded it while their children were watching a video.

yeah, I know, I know (and Ant you are sooo sweet) - it IS a beautiful old home we have loved it dearly, and somehow we've come to the realisation that we need to move on and into something a bit smaller and less work (garden-wise). Anyway - its got to be a special place to move into - its got to be old (LOL) just cant see ourselves contemporary. As much as I love it and boy there are some beautiful modern houses (even contemplated it), I'm just more at home in kinda 'history' - 'old and worn'.
Painting - fun? nup - no fun to be had here, its a chore, but a necessary one. Whats fun is seeing how much better it is when its finished! The sparkly room with the glitter in the paint will probably need a sand (moresthepity) I'm so over sanding atm!!
ANyway, just finished watching 'Revenge' - more shocks after shocks!
Who is the man shot on the beach!!! So want to know!
I love that show Mandy - I set up my t-box before I went on hols so I hope the rest of the season will be waiting for me when I get home!
I'm coming down with the flu - quite day at the apartment today. We're hoping to go to Disneyland tomorrow (it's a public holiday so Michelle isn't working) and then I'll be home again by the weekend!
