Lee-anne added a surprise in my pizza box this month - a Mini royal roses die and once I worked out the right way to rolled these flowers I had some fun.

If you saw my sketch sample you would have noticed my first attempt.

I didnt really like them at that stage and it wasn't until I messaged Lee-anne and chatted to her about them that I realised I was rolling from the inside out and not outside in like its meant too.

Here are my favourites on this layout.

Follow Your Heart.

Image

Using Mini royal roses die, Ranger, Tim Holtz, Distress Sain Antique Linen, Perfect pearl mist, Prima, Printery, A4 pad and Prima letters.

And the steps I took to make them.

1-Cut out the dies from both tissue and brown paper. I have cut through three layers to give my flowers a fuller look. If you have brought any inks or sprays lately you may just recognise the brown paper I have used.

2-Layer the white onto the brown of centre

and start rolling.

Image

The tighter you roll, the more compact the flower you get.

Image

3-When you get to the big middle bit add a dob of glue onto that and the rolled end of your flower.

Image

Pinch the flower from underneath in your fingers while the glue takes and fluff the petals a bit.

Image

4-If you want to give your flowers a light sheen spray them with some pearl mist. I have used a little of the Cappuccino one, although it is hard to see on them.

If you have used this die, let's see your flowers :P

Wow Julie, love what you have done with the double layering - that makes an amazing flower that way.

Thanks for the admittance on the rolling wrong way too - the amount of girls I have who buy these and come back with the same comments you did is amazing - all of these rolled flower dies are designed to roll that way and it is not the logic you would expect - I made exactly the same mistake to begin with

Wow Julie these are great, I did the same thing when I started with mine, rolling from the inside, until Lee-Anne showed me.
