a-by-gone-era.jpgA by gone eraI drew my inspiration from the fashions. This is me and DH in period costume. The old tape measure is a scan of my DH's Nanna' tape[ I still use it] and the necklace is my mums. This is my first go at shabby chic, so any advice from you guys will be greatly appreciated, cause I don't know what I am doing! This photo has turned out a bit darker than the actual LO.9 commentsJul 13, 2009

ul___DSC06296.JPGCC#2 Inspiration challenge "style"I was inspired by the dresses in your picture to use this photo of my mum from 1962 in her peddle pushers. I added images from the net, but the irony is if i could look in my mums old pattern box, i would probably find these axact ones (my mum was a professional seamstress).8 commentsJul 12, 2009

My mum was the ultimate 50s wife she worked hard but did everything with elegance and grace - she was brought up to be the homemaker and some of her saying were so 'then' - Even if you have had a baby, wearing a nice frock and lipstick when your husband comes home' was one that stuck in my memory - and everything was made better by a bandaid or later - a nice cup of tea.
